Sun's Game 3 win ends Mystics' season

The Connecticut Sun have defeated the Washington Mystics 3 games to 1 to clinch a semifinals berth in the WNBA playoffs.

The Sun took the first game of the series 74-68, before losing the following game 88-64. Connecticut rebounded to win Game 3 84-78, and finalized their victory with an 89-78 win at home.

DeWanna Bonner led the Sun in scoring throughout the series, averaging 20.3 points per game. Bonner also led in assists with 5.8 per game.

The Mystics were down by eight points early to the Sun, but managed to close the gap to only 3 by the half. After the first two quarters, the score was 42-49 for Connecticut.

The Mystics kept the third quarter close and came within one point of tying the game with only seconds left on the clock in the third. The Sun closed out the third up 2, 68-66.

In the fourth quarter, the Mystics fell behind by 9 with just over 5 and a half minutes remaining in the game. The Sun ran the clock out and took the game by 11 points, 89-78.

Elena Delle Donne scored over 20 points in both games 2 and 3, and posted 24 in game 4. Delle Donne averaged 20.5 points per game during the series.
