Buffs Wrap Up First Invitational in Wyoming

Successful Weekend for CU Ski Team

Strong Performances Mark Impressive Start to Season

The University of Colorado ski team kicked off their season with a strong showing at the Wyoming Invitational in Laramie, Wyoming. The Buffs placed second overall, behind only the University of Utah. Led by strong performances from both the men's and women's teams, CU earned multiple podium finishes and set the stage for a promising season ahead.

Men's Team Shines in Giant Slalom

The men's team dominated the giant slalom event, with three Buffs finishing in the top 10. Junior Max Bervy led the way with a second-place finish, while freshman Martin Noren and sophomore Luke Henrichsen placed sixth and eighth, respectively. Their combined efforts helped CU secure a second-place finish in the team standings for the event.

Women's Team Impresses in Slalom

The women's team also had a strong showing, led by a third-place finish from sophomore Kyla Pramuk in the slalom. Pramuk's podium finish was backed up by solid performances from freshman Noelle Barmettler and senior Katie Parker, who placed 10th and 12th, respectively. The women's team placed third overall in the slalom event.

Overall Team Success

The Buffs' strong performances in both the giant slalom and slalom events helped them secure a second-place finish in the overall team standings. The University of Utah won the invitational with a combined score of 445 points, while CU finished with 405 points. The University of Denver placed third with 353 points.

Looking Ahead

The Buffs will return to action next weekend at the Colorado Invitational at Eldora Mountain Resort. The invitational will be the first of two home events for CU this season, with the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) Championships also being held at Eldora in March.

The Wyoming Invitational was a successful start to the season for the Buffs. The team showed strong depth and resilience, and they will look to build on their success as the season progresses.
