Siegburg: Intercity Express stopped after warning due to cracked windshield
Deutsche Bahn stopped Intercity during the journey from Cologne to Koblenz
The railway company Deutsche Bahn stopped an Intercity Express train traveling from Cologne to Koblenz on Monday afternoon, April 25, due to a warning of a cracked windshield. Passengers had to change to another train to complete their journey, said a spokeswoman for the federal police on Tuesday. No one was injured.
The train stopped near Siegburg. The police were called in to check, and they closed the train track during the check. The train was checked by experts and the cracked windshield was confirmed. According to the police spokeswoman, no shards had come loose, so the train could continue its journey to the next station where passengers could change trains. The spokeswoman said that the Intercity was then taken out of service.
Deutsche Bahn is investigating how the windshield got cracked. The spokeswoman could not provide any information about when the Intercity Express will be back in service.
