Shailene Woodley has revealed that she went through a "heavy personal transition" while filming the upcoming Showtime series "Three Women." The actress stars in the series as Gia, a woman who is recovering from a traumatic brain injury.

In a new interview with Variety, Woodley said that she was "in a very different place" when she started filming the series than she was when she finished. "I was in a place of deep healing and deep trauma," she said. "And I think that Gia was a reflection of that."

Woodley said that she had to "go to some dark places" to play Gia. "I had to access some really painful parts of myself," she said. "But I think it was ultimately a really healing experience."
