Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier Day 1 Wrap-Up

Recurve Women

Canadian Rachelle Miyno is on top after day one following five-set wins over Simran Dhillon of India in the first round and Mayra Mendez of Mexico in the second.

Linda Ochoa-Anderson and Alexandra Long will lead the United States on day two of recurve women's action. Ochoa-Anderson defeated Reem Mansour of Egypt 6-0 in the first round before topping Abigail Clinard of Canada 7-1. Long defeated Ghazala Yasmin of Bangladesh 6-0.

Audrey Adiceom of France tops all French women in eighth place with Caroline Lopez and Lisa Barbelin advancing to day two as well.

Recurve Men

French archer Thomas Chirault, who, on the women's side, is Barbelin's boyfriend, topped qualifying in the recurve men's competition, two points ahead of Brady Ellison of the United States. Ellison is currently in sixth place.

The top American is Jack Williams, who is in 13th place. Matthew Requa is in 24th and Joseph Fanchin is in 76th.

Pierre Plihon and Valentin Ripaux join Chirault in qualifying for France with Plihon in 10th and Ripaoux in 25th.

Compound Women

Sara Lopez of Columbia leads the compound women's competition with Sophie Dodemont of France in fourth. Jyothi Surekha Vennam of India finished the day in eighth.

Ashley Rosser and Cassidy Cox paced the USA, finishing in ninth and 10th, respectively. Paige Pearce finished in 39th.

Clara Wauthier and Lola Grandjean join Dodemont in the competition for France, finishing 20th and 32nd, respectively.

Compound Men

Jean Philippe Boulch placed France in the top 10 in the compound men's competition after a tied score with Mike Schloesser of the Netherlands.

Braden Gellenthien, the reigning Olympic gold medalist, leads the American men in 11th. James Lutz and Kris Schaff are in 23rd and 31st, respectively.

Abhishek Verma of India finished the day in second while Anton Bulaev of Russia finished in fourth. Mathias Fullerton of Australia rounded out the top five.
