Martin Necas scored twice and added two assists, and the Carolina Hurricanes extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.

Andrei Svechnikov, Jesper Fast, Jordan Staal and Teuvo Teravainen also scored for Carolina. Frederik Andersen made 26 saves.

Nick Foligno and Charlie McAvoy scored for Boston. Linus Ullmark stopped 33 shots.

The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead on Necas' first goal of the game at 6:59 of the first period. Svechnikov made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 16:05.

Boston cut the deficit to 2-1 on Foligno's goal at 1:25 of the second period, but Necas scored his second goal of the game at 7:03 to make it 3-1.

Fast extended the lead to 4-1 with a goal at 14:07, and Staal made it 5-1 with a goal at 16:25.

McAvoy scored a power-play goal for Boston at 10:28 of the third period, but Teravainen answered with a goal at 12:37 to make it 6-2.

Necas capped the scoring with an empty-net goal at 18:53.

The Hurricanes have now won five straight games and are 7-2-1 in their last 10.
