Mick Schumacher: Expert warns him against F1 cockpit at Audi
Schumacher Junior needs to prove himself in the smaller classes
Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher has warned his nephew Mick Schumacher against a move to Audi in the premier class. "I think it would be too early for Mick to switch to Formula 1 at Audi," said the Sky expert.
Mick Schumacher has been driving in Formula 2 for two years and has not yet been able to win the title. In the current season, he is only fifth in the overall standings.
"He needs to prove himself in the smaller classes first," said Ralf Schumacher. "He needs to win races and championships and show that he is ready for Formula 1."
Audi is planning to enter Formula 1 in 2026, and there has been speculation that Mick Schumacher could be one of the drivers for the German manufacturer. However, Ralf Schumacher believes that his nephew should not rush into a move to F1.
"It would be better for Mick to stay in Formula 2 for another year or two and continue to develop," said Ralf Schumacher. "He has the talent to be a successful Formula 1 driver, but he needs to be patient and take his time."
