McAfee's donation to support West Virginia student-athletes

Former West Virginia football punter Pat McAfee announced on Monday that he will be donating $1 million to the Country Roads Trust, a non-profit organization that supports current and former West Virginia University student-athletes.

McAfee's donation will help fund scholarships, mental health services, and career development programs for student-athletes.

McAfee's donation is the largest single donation in the history of the Country Roads Trust.

McAfee played for the Mountaineers from 2005 to 2008 and was a two-time All-American. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft and played for the team for eight seasons.

McAfee is now a successful media personality and podcaster.

He hosts "The Pat McAfee Show" on SiriusXM and has a podcast called "Pardon My Take." McAfee is also a regular contributor to Fox Sports.

McAfee's donation is a major boost for the Country Roads Trust.

The organization provides financial assistance to student-athletes who are facing financial hardship and also provides mental health services and career development programs.

The Country Roads Trust was founded in 2016 by former West Virginia football player Tavon Austin. The organization has since raised over $2 million to support West Virginia student-athletes.

McAfee's donation will help the Country Roads Trust continue to provide much-needed support to West Virginia student-athletes.
