James Christian "Chris" Johnson Obituary (2024) - Marion, IL - Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home

James Christian "Chris" Johnson, 63, of Marion, passed away at 6:11 pm on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at his home.

Chris was born on December 23, 1960 in Herrin to Bill and Alma (Greenwood) Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Alma of Marion; sister, Joni (David) Plott of Fort Wayne, IN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Chris was a 1978 graduate of Marion High School and worked in the telecommunications industry. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion with Rev. John Holst officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion and from 10am until the time of service at the church on Monday.

Memorial donations may be made to the Zion United Church of Christ and will be accepted at the funeral home or church.
