Hundreds line O'Connell Street for hoax Halloween parade
Thousands of revellers turned out for a Halloween parade on Saturday night, October 31st in Dublin city centre.
The event, organised by the Dublin City Council, had been scheduled to take place on the previous weekend but was postponed due to bad weather.
A large crowd gathered on O'Connell Street from early evening, with many people dressed in elaborate costumes.
The parade featured a host of colourful floats, as well as street performers and musicians.
However, the parade was marred by a number of incidents of anti-social behaviour.
GardaĆ were called to the scene on several occasions to deal with reports of public disorder.
One man was arrested for possession of a weapon, while another was arrested for public intoxication.
Despite the incidents of anti-social behaviour, the parade was generally enjoyed by those who attended.
"It was a great night out," said one reveller. "The atmosphere was electric and there was something for everyone to enjoy."
The Dublin City Council has said that it will review the security arrangements for next year's parade in light of the incidents that occurred this year.
