D.J. Reed Highlights Jets' Seven Inactive Players for Steelers Game

Reed's Absence Due to Concussion a Major Blow to Jets' Defense

New York Jets cornerback D.J. Reed will not play in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a concussion. Reed suffered the injury in last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens and was ruled out on Friday. The Jets will also be without six other players due to various injuries. In addition to Reed, the Jets will be without defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (calf), defensive end John Franklin-Myers (toe), linebacker Quincy Williams (ankle), cornerback Bryce Hall (ankle), wide receiver Elijah Moore (quadricep), and tight end Tyler Conklin (knee).

Replacing Reed and Other Injured Players a Challenge for Jets

The loss of Reed is a major blow to the Jets' defense. Reed has been one of the team's most consistent players this season, recording 45 tackles, four interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. The Jets will likely start Brandin Echols in place of Reed. The Jets will also have to find replacements for Williams, Franklin-Myers, and Quincy Williams. Williams has been a key part of the Jets' pass rush this season, while Franklin-Myers has been a solid run defender. Quincy Williams has been a valuable contributor on special teams.

Moore's Absence Leaves Jets Thin at Wide Receiver

The Jets will also be without their leading receiver, Elijah Moore. Moore has 43 receptions for 548 yards and five touchdowns this season. The Jets will likely start Denzel Mims and Corey Davis in place of Moore. The Jets are hoping to get some of their injured players back for next week's game against the Buffalo Bills. However, the team will have to find a way to replace Reed and the other injured players in the meantime.
