Bahn: Man at Cologne Central Station run over and killed by train
Police are investigating after a man was run over and killed by a train at Cologne Central Station on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at around 10.30am on platform 11, Deutsche Bahn said. The man, who is believed to have been in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, a police spokesperson said.
The train involved was a regional service from Aachen to Cologne, Deutsche Bahn said. The line was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident.
A spokesperson for Deutsche Bahn said: "We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident and offer our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. We are cooperating closely with the police to investigate the circumstances of the incident."
