Auburn Tigers News: Na'eem Offord visits this weekend, next steps for north end zone

Offord taking official visit

Four-star quarterback Na'eem Offord is reportedly taking an official visit to Auburn University this weekend, according to multiple media outlets.

Offord, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound pro-style quarterback from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is ranked as the No. 5 quarterback and No. 56 overall player in the 2024 class by 247Sports.

Offord has already taken official visits to Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Missouri and is also considering Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Malzahn on north end zone expansion

Auburn athletic director John Cohen and head football coach Hugh Freeze have discussed the possibility of expanding the north end zone at Jordan-Hare Stadium, according to a report from AL.com.

Malzahn said that the two sides have had "preliminary" discussions about the project, but that no concrete plans have been made.

The north end zone is currently the smallest section of Jordan-Hare Stadium, with a capacity of just over 10,000 seats.

What's next?

Offord's official visit to Auburn is scheduled for this weekend, and he is expected to make a decision on his college commitment soon after.

As for the north end zone expansion, it is still in the early stages of planning. However, if the project is approved, it would likely be completed in time for the 2024 football season.
