Atletico boss Simeone in terse mood before Bilbao clash

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was in a terse mood ahead of his side's La Liga clash with Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Simeone, who is under pressure after a poor start to the season, snapped at reporters when asked about his team's form.

"We are working hard, but the results are not coming," he said.

"We need to keep working and improving, and I am confident that we will turn things around."

Simeone's comments come after Atletico lost their last two La Liga games, and were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid.

The defeat to Real Madrid was particularly disappointing, as Atletico had been leading 2-0 at half-time.

However, Real Madrid came back to win 3-2, and Simeone was left to rue his team's missed chances.

"We had a good first half, but we didn't take our chances," he said.

"We need to be more clinical in front of goal, and we need to defend better."

Sunday's clash with Athletic Bilbao is a big game for Atletico, who need to get back to winning ways.

Athletic Bilbao are a tough opponent, but Simeone is confident that his team can get the three points.

"We know that Athletic Bilbao are a good team, but we are confident that we can beat them," he said.

"We need to play to our strengths, and we need to take our chances."
